On Thursday 24th of October 2019, Dr (Mrs) Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings receives SRTV Hero Awards at the Prestigious Middlesex University in London.
This coincides with her book Launch titled “It Takes A Woman”.
SRTV is a world platform designed to broadcast innovative Black/African content to a global audience
With head office in London, UK, we often define ourselves as a one-world TV platform as we have studios and offices in Africa, The Caribbean and the United States of America.
According to popular dispositions out there, we also recognize that two ways to keep people on the right track in society are either by sanction or by motivation. The stereotype and how we as a people are currently represented in the 21st Century world is an issue for another day. However, at SRTV, we have chosen to particularly use our Magazine to showcase the activities of outstanding Leaders, Individuals, Entrepreneurs and Organizations.
Suffice to say that our HERO AWARDs sets out to recognize and celebrate those who are making positive impacts and changes to lives and making huge differences in societies. Those whose tracks cannot be erased but names written in the annals or sands of time, those whose shoes are too big for the small minded to fit in.
One such personality in our midst today worthy of this unique plaque, is someone with active involvement in humanitarian works providing loans, building of fully equipped hospitals, financial and emotional support to cancer patients. Has a quest for gender equality, children’s rights and partners with the United Nations and other world forums to alleviate and possibly eradicate poverty and gender balance in the world particularly Republic of Ghana.
She has also received Justice and Peace awards in America, Europe and globally.
In her famous quote: she says,
“My desire is to see the emancipation of women at every level of development to enable them to contribute and benefit from the socio-economic and political progress of the country. Their participation will help to achieve the aims of the United Nations Declaration for Women; Equality, Development and Peace. Women’s vital role of promoting peace in the family, the country and the world at large must be acknowledged. And to do this, they must be empowered politically to equip them adequately for the challenges of critically identifying and assessing situations for the betterment of society.”
She is the first female Presidential Candidate in the history of Ghana. She fits into the crtiteria of SRTV Hero and that is why we are here.
With a rousing ovasion we acknowledge … Dr. (Mrs) Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana and Executive President of Developing Women for Mobilization (DWM).
On behalf of SRTV, it is a great honor to present this prestigious award to your Excellency as well as congratulate her for a job well done.
