The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and his wife, Betsy Obaseki, have continued to drum support for the Reader Angel Riemen as she attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the longest read aloud time by an individual.
The governor who was visibly elated Wednesday while watching Riemen at her reading location in the State Library, Secretariat Building, Benin City, said he is proud of Riemen’s endeavour and enduring spirit to break the record.
He stated,
“I am very proud of Riemen’s enduring spirit to break the records. Her attempt is a testament of the resilience and winning spirit of the Edo youth to break barriers thereby inspiring both young men and women not to despair in the face of any obstacle”.
Arts, Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Hon. Uyi Oduwa Malaka was among other civil Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries that were also there to show support for Angel Riemen. Guests included the eminent Artist and Architect Octogenarian, Professor Demas Nwoko, the designer & builder of the Oba Akenzua the Second Cultural Centre, one of Edo’s Architectural landmarks listed in the book, 1001 Buildings You Must Read Before You Die.
So far, Angel Riemen has made her 200 hour significant milestone in her record breaking attempt. As at the time of the Governor Obaseki’s visit, she has surpassed 207hours and still counting.
