Organized Labour Set Parastatals Crawling Over Minimum Wage…

Striking workers crippled activities across the nation as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) embarks on industrial action over the minimum wage, electricity tariff, cost of living amongst others. The workers’ action has set almost every sector crawling in compliance with the organised labour’s directive.

This strike action is as a result of fruitless back and forth negotiation with the Federal Government to arrival at a decent wage for Nigerian workers. The National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities. Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria. The National Union of Electricity Employees. Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria. National Associations of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives. Joint Union Action Committee.

The Nigeria Union of Teachers and other unions are fully in compliance. However, the Federal Government and Labour are currently  in an emergency meeting. In attendance is the President of NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, and his colleague, in the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Festus Osifo
