The traditional ruler of Ewu kingdom, Okuoma community, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukvwe who surrendered himself in course of the investigations of the killings of 17 military officers in Okuoma community, Delta State has been released by the Nigerian Army. The Nigerian Army said although it has not exonerated anybody regarding the incident, it decided to release the monarch after carefully reviewing the incident and the intervention of some highly-placed personalities in the society.
The Director of the Army Public Relations,Major General Onyema Nwachukwu handed the monarch over to Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents the Delta Central Constituency at the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja, due to the fact that the traditional ruler voluntarily surrendered himself and on the condition to always assist on the ongoing investigation. The army called on other suspects to make themselves available for questioning.
