Delta State Film And Video Censor’s Board Bill, 2024 Scales Through Second Reading On The Floor Of The State House Of Assembly. 

A Bill for a Law to establish the Delta State Film and Video Censor’s Board Law, 2024 and for other related purposes was read the second time in a motion moved by the majority leader Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, seconded by member representing Ika North East constituency Hon. Marilyn Okowa Daramola at today’s Wednesday plenary.

Leading debate by the majority leader Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi said the Bill seeks to regulate the activities of films, video works and cinematography in the State. He said when the Bill is passed into law, it would enable the State provide necessary regulatory framework in all matters relating to activities of films, video works and cinematography in the State and create job opportunities in the film industry.

 

The Bill enjoined unanimous support by the Lawmakers. The Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor then referred the Bill to House Committee on Art Culture and Tourism to report back on the 28 day of May, 2024.
