The Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, has commissioned a healthcare staff quarters and a borehole project in his hometown of Evboehighae Dukedom, in Ugbeka Ward, Orhriomwon Local Government area of Edo State. Speaking during the ceremony, Nehikhare remarked that the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration is committed to delivering on its campaign promises. Nehikhare who was delighted at the completion of the project in record time, assured members of his community that more developmental projects are in the works.
According to the Commissioner, “We have a staff quarters in our health center, and we have water available in our health center. We are also going to be refurbishing the health center within the next few months. “What is also important to us in this community is our road. The Governor has assured me that the road will be fixed soonest. But today we are here to commission what we have achieved; this beautiful staff quarters and the borehole project.” Nehikhare further stressed the commitment of the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration to catering for the welfare and needs of residents in the state, while assuring members of his community of more infrastructural projects, which according to him, are underway.
Also speaking during the commissioning, the General Manager of the Edo State Community and Social Development Agency (Edo-CSDA) Engr. Osazuwa Osarume, represented by the Head of Operations, Barrister Imoudu Longe, said that the project was an initiative of Edo-CSDA, under the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration, with considerable efforts from the Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, who was instrumental to the project execution, being an indigene of the community.
He further noted that the project was completed in record time following the approval given by the Governor. “We are all answerable to one Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, who approved the funds for the realization of these two projects”, Osarume added. Residents of the community who were visibly elated at the completion of the project thanked Governor Obaseki, Edo-CSDA and Mr. Nehikhare for prioritizing their healthcare needs and attracting such infrastructural development to the community. Highpoint of the event was the commissioning of the staff quarters and the borehole project by Mr. Chris Nehikhare.
