2023 Amendment Revised Appropriation Bill Has Been Passed On The Floor Of The State House Of Assembly. 

The Bill was read the second time in a motion moved by the majority leader Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, seconded by member representing Ughelli South constituency Hon. Festus Utuama.

Speaking on the aim of the draft Bill, Hon. Nwaobi said the amendment sort to reflect the changes in the budget.

Suspending relevant House rules the majority leader moved that the Bill be read the third time and passed. Seconded by member representing Patani State constituency Hon. Emmanuel Amatare Sinebe.

Commending Lawmakers after the passage of the Bill, the Speaker Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi said the Bill would enable government build a prosperous and great future for Deltans, while pledging the State legislatures commitment for the advancement of the MORE Agenda.

Also at plenary the Delta State Prevention and Prohibition of Destruction and Vandalization of Public Properties and Assets Bill scaled second reading after the lead sponsor Hon. Augoye James member representing Okpe State constituency moved a motion that the Bill be read for the second time, which was seconded by member representing Ika North East constituency Hon. Marilyn Okowa Daramola.

Speaking on the merits of the Bill Hon. Augoye said the Bill which is made up of 6 parts and 53 clauses aimed to provide for the prevention and protection of public properties in the State. He said there are penalties for any offender.

Other lawmakers lend their voices in support of the Bill.

The Bill was then referred to the House Committee on Rules Ethics Legal and Judicial Matters to report back on the 25th September 2024.

Delta State Registration of Private Veterinary Clinics Amendment Bill which also came for consideration was referred to Special Committee on Bills for further scrutiny to report back in two weeks.

Earlier the Speaker Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi informed the House of letters received from 2 local government  Chairmen stating the nomination of Secretary for their councils. The Speaker charged the nominees to submit 35 copies of their curriculum vitea CV to the office of the Clerk before Monday 9th and appear for screening on Tuesday 10th September 2024
