Delta State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the nominee for appointment as Secretary to Sapele Local Government Council.
Speaker, Rt. Honourable Emomotimi Guwor who presided over Plenary announced the confirmation on the floor of the house.
In a motion by the Deputy Majority Leader, Honourable Festus Okoh and supported by the Chief whip, Hon. Perkins Umukoro, the house dissolved itself into the committee of the whole to enable it screen the nominees for appointment Secretary to Sapele Local government Council.
The nominee, Mr. Raymond Overah who was brought before the house, was presented for screening by the member representing Sapele State constituency and Chief whip, Hon. Perkins Umukoro.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor thereafter announced the confirmation of the nominee and charged him to discharge his duties in the capacity he has been nominated to serve.
Also at Plenary the house received a report on the Delta State Special Offences Court Amendment Bill, 2024 presented by the joint committee on Rules, Business, and Judiciary and Special Committee on Bills.
Submitting its report on the floor of the House, the chairman House committee on Rules, Business and Judiciary and member representing Ughelli North 2 constituency, Hon. Spencer Owhofa said the Bill after much scrutiny recommends that amendment be made in some sections of the Bill.
The Speaker, deffered the report to October 8 for the committee of the Whole House.
The Executive Bill seeks to amend the Special Offences Court Law of 2018.
