Due to the mass sacking of 1000 of it’s staffs without following the due process which was done by the Heritage bank, managing director, Mr George-Taylor, has resulted to shut down of its operations.
The National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE), has shut down the bank’s head office in Lagos and this has caused a widespread of concerns amongst customers and workers.
Following the recent happenings going on in the bank, customers has expressed their worries about the future of the bank and citizens shows sympathy on the mass layoff of employees. Financial authorities has stepped in and decided to shut down the operations of the bank, till the bank management provide clear explanations for their actions and the sudden termination of such a large number of employees.
Workers, stakeholders and customers are hoping and waiting for updates and a quick resolution to this crisis from the financial authorities and the management of the bank… All eyes remain on Heritage Bank as the affected staffs and the public awaits and hope for answers and clarity during this time
