Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Has Sought Realignment Of The 2024 Supplementary Bill.
This was contained in a letter sent to the State House of Assembly for approval and read at Plenary by the Speaker Rt. Honourable Emomotimi Guwor.
Governor Oborevwori said the realignment sought for the 2024 Supplementary Bill would not increase the already approved Appropriation Bill.
Haven been read the first time the Majority Leader Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi moved motion for its second reading which was seconded by the member representing Ndokwa west Honourable Charles Emetulu.
Speaking for the Supplementary Bill, Honourable Nwaobi said the Bill clearly demonstrates the administrative dexterity of the governor.
Other members who spoke in favour of the Bill agreed that the supplementary Bill brought before the House by the Governor not only indicates the State Governments scale of preference in giving priority to key areas of the state economy, but also showcases accountability, good management, fiscal and financial discipline and respect for the rule of law.
The Bill was unanimously supported.
The Speaker then refered the Bill to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to report back at the next sitting.
The House at Plenary screened and confirmed nominees into Boards and Commissions.
Those Cleared are, Joshua Onoriode Oborevwori as Chairman Delta State Sports Commission, Okeremute Samuel Sodje, Henrietta Ehiabor Iheakoyen and Oghale Ofremu as members.
Cleared for appointment for the Delta State Traffic Management Authority, were Chief Peter ldion for Chairman, Hon. Okiemute Essien Benjamin, Director General, Ogagaoghene Otikpo and Charles George are to serve as members. George Okafor was absent to be cleared on a later date.
For The Delta State Public Procurement Commission, those cleared include, a Retired Assistant Inspector of Police David Igodo as Chairman, Edwin Eruno Abraka, Venture Daniels and Fyncountry Goodluck Tamaraebi members.
The Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission cleared are, Sunday Ohwo Ebireri as Chairman and Chief Moses Chukwudi Onowu as member.
Others also cleared include, Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu for the position of Executive Director Delta State oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Matthew Mofe Edema and Ethe Enifome Juliet , Chairman and member, Delta State Waste Management Board. Chief Joe Arausi, Chairman Delta State Urban Water Board, and Mr Christopher Tonwe was cleared as secretary of Warri South West Local Government.
The Speaker congratulated the nominees and charged all cleared nominees to carry out their duties diligently and work in line with the mandate of the M O R E agenda of the State governor.
